WorkCoverSA’s annual Recovery and Return to Work Awards were launched on Wednesday 22 February by CEO Rob Thomson, at the Adelaide Convention Centre. South Australians can nominate someone who has recovered from a workplace injury, or has helped injured workers through the steps of staying at or returning to work, for an award.
“The number of applications for the Recovery and Return to Work Awards has risen steadily across the seven-year history of the awards program and we shall continue to seek record numbers of nominations for this year,” Mr Thomson said.
The awards play an important role in recognising the outstanding achievements of injured workers and those who have helped them to remain at or return to work, including: their employers, rehabilitation and return to work coordinators, health and rehabilitation providers and case managers.
The seven award categories are:
- Worker achievement awards (for worker in a small to medium organisation, and worker in a large or self-insured organisation)
- Employer excellence awards (for small to medium employer, and large or self-insured employer)
- Health and rehabilitation individual achievement award
- Rehabilitation and return to work coordinator excellence award
- Case and injury management excellence award
People can both nominate and apply online through the awards’ website at www.workcover.com/awards, Hard copy application forms can still be downloaded from our website and posted for those who prefer to do so.
Award winners will be announced at the Recovery and Return to Work Awards ceremony on Tuesday 4 September, and will receive a prize to the value of $3,000, as well as a trophy and certificate to commemorate their outstanding return to work achievement.
SISA is once again pleased to be a sponsor of the WorkCover Awards. As was the case last year, there will be an ability for nominees to simultaneously nominate for both SISA and WorkCover Awards.
Key dates and information for the WorkCover Awards: Nominations open February 22 and close on Friday 20 April and full applications are due by Friday 4 May.
