Minister for Industrial Relations Paul Holloway has appointed Prescott Securities Limited chief executive David White to the WorkCoverSA Board. Mr White replaces Ms Terri Scheer on the Board. His three-year appointment runs until 24 November 2013.
Mr White has a long and distinguished career in the wealth management industry and in investment markets supervision, and brings a vast background of knowledge and experience to the Board. As chief executive of Adelaide-based Prescott Securities, Mr White heads a national stockbroking and financial advisory business that handles nearly $2.5 billion in client funds. Before working with Prescott Securities, Mr White was a national manager and SA manager with the Australian Stock Exchange, where he was responsible for listed company supervision and market surveillance.
Mr White studied Law at the University of Adelaide, beginning his professional career as a lawyer in Adelaide before turning his hand to equities and finance. He has held many committee and board roles at the Securities Institute of Australia (now Finsia), and in 2002 was made a life member in recognition of his many years of commitment and experience.
Mr White is also a lecturer in securities industry law and portfolio management, and a former and present member of important financial industry and charitable association boards.
