Safe Work Australia's report shows that at least 533 workers' compensation claims relating to COVID-19 had been made across Australia up to 31 July 2020 although that number will by now be higher given the second wave in Victoria and outbreaks in NSW.
Of the 533 claims, 253 were accepted, 95 rejected and 185 were undetermined. NSW reported the most claims (299), followed by Victoria (75), Queensland (68) and Tasmania (59). South Australia had recorded 4 claims.
The report provides breakdowns by industry and occupation, and by mental and phsyical injuries.
