Work Capacity Certificates are going electronic.

ReturnToWorkSA (RTWSA) have partnered with Unified Healthcare Group (UHG) and Telstra Health, to develop an electronic version of the Work Capacity Certificate (eWCC), available to South Australian Doctors from 1 July 2016.  As part of a phased rollout commencing in May 2016, the new eWCC will become available and installed onto Doctor’s Practice Management Software (PMS). While there are many changes with the new eWCC, it will not impact self-insured employer access or use of the secure site.

The use of electronic forms, known as e-Forms are part of the National E-Health Transition Authority (NETHA) strategic plan, to create an interoperable environment, which facilitates the secure transfer of information, improving the clinical care and health outcomes for patients.

The eWCC will streamline the process for completing certificates, allowing it to be securely and directly submitted to RTWSA. Doctors can simultaneously view patient data in their practice management software (PMS) in real time through the Telstra Secure Cloud. Auto-population and save-back functions for select practice management software applications, combined with extensive user help, will improve a Doctor’s experience in completing the form and help them to save time.
