We would like to take this opportunity to advise of a number of changes to the Next Generation Practice:
New Primary Care (GP) Services at Next Generation Occupational Medicine
In addition to our Rose Park Clinic, Next Generation is now providing 5-day coverage of early intervention and acute injury management services at our new premises at:
Northern Medical Centre
1/1568 Main North Road
Salisbury South SA 5106
Corner of Frost Road and Main North Road
Injured workers can now be treated without a GP referral.
Dr Thanh Ha previously worked as a physiotherapist for seven years, specialising in orthopaedics and neurophysiotherapy. Since then, she has participated in surgical training, completed her PhD in surgery and is now pursuing her interest in occupational medicine
Dr Yi Han Cheng was a qualified engineer and pilot before deciding to pursue his career in occupational medicine. Dr Cheng was previously enrolled in the Singaporean Army and Military Police. He is a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) and is qualified to perform CASA medicals.
Dr Cheng has a 90% return to pre-injury work rate within the first 3 months of injury, and Dr Ha has a similar return to work rate.
Since starting the service in February, Next Generation has had:
• no lost time for new injuries.
• an average time to return to normal duties of 18 days.
• 70% of workers have been cleared within 1 week.
• 85% of workers have been cleared within 2 weeks.
Both doctors join our Physiotherapists Peter Roberts, Diane Wilson and Tien Nguyen, as well as our new Psychologist Michelle Bakjac, as part of our Specialised Early Intervention Service (SEIS). They are also supported by 4 Occupational Physicians as well as our fast tracked Second Opinion Medicine Specialists.
New Occupational Physician
Dr Robin Chase, Occupational Physician, has joined Next Generation, providing IMEs, Second Opinion Medicine, PIAs and ISV assessments. Worksite Assessments and Job Dictionaries
Worksite Assessments and Job Dictionaries are tools that can be used in return-to-work planning, employee induction and job matching. Our physiotherapists and occupational therapists can attend a worksite and assess the demands of any job, to provide analysis of the stresses and risks involved.
Working with movement analysis software, Smart Health also specialises in designing Video Job Dictionaries. The next generation of employees learns more quickly and more accurately from video footage than from written documents. Return-to-work planning is significantly easier when task analysis can be viewed in video format. We can provide you with annotated, analysed video footage of any work task, streamlining job dictionaries into the coming decades.
Please contact us on (08) 8293 1100 or by email Nick.Ireland@smarthealthtraining.com.au to discuss how we can help with your worksite analysis needs or click on this link to our website http://www.smarthealthtraining.com.au/ohs.htm.
