Free worksite first aid assessment for SISA members

A

Friday 30 January 2015

Named one of the country’s most reputable not for profit organisations, St John has been supporting the health and well-being of South Australians for over 130 years.

As the state’s leading expert in the field of first aid, St John is committed to duty holders to understand their first aid obligations under the Safe Work Australia First Aid Code of Practice. According to SafeWork SA, approximately 20,000 South Australians were injured at work in
the 12 months to July 2014 with community services, manufacturing, wholesale, retail and the construction industry continuing to account for most workplace incidents and injuries as wellas the most serious.

The first aid requirements of any given business or organisation vary, depending on a number of factors such as types of hazards, size and location. It is not just a matter of buying a first aid kit and assuming staff will know what to do, it is about ensuring there is enough first aid trained staff in all workplaces, as well as appropriate resources including kits, clear signage, drills and effective procedures in place.

The most important first step to ensuring your workplace is legally compliant is a risk assessment that factors in the unique needs of your workplace, a service that St John provides for many of its industry partners.

As part of SISA’s strategy to provide continuously improved and competitively priced services and resources to its members, St John wishes to make a special offer of a complimentary worksite first aid assessment (normally valued at $195) to all SISA members.

To take advantage of this offer, please call Brigid Koenig on 08 8306 6907 or brigid.koenig@stjohnsa.com.au
