SafeWork SA has released the draft criteria for the approval of training providers to deliver prescribed OH&S training to responsible officers, health and safety representatives and deputy health and safety representatives.
The draft criteria would require Approved Training Providers (ATPs) to have the Certificate IV in OH&S in their scope, offer regional training and to comply with a number of other requirements. SISA is keen to see the criteria settled in a form in which the Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) among its associate members can become ATPs and deliver the prescribed training to SISA members in a form that is customised to the needs of self insurers.
The consultation period for the draft criteria runs until 10 June 2008. SISA intends to respond to the draft, and we therefore seek member input to our response. Please review the criteria document and provide us with your views by Friday 30 May 2008 to give us sufficient time to draft a response.
