SISA Chair steps down after 11 years

A

Tuesday 8 June 2010

Our Chair of 11 years, Steve Standen, has stepped down from his role as Chair of SISA and as a member of the SISA Executive Committee. In a note to the Committee, Steve has stated that "Over the past decade or so, as the Chairman of SISA, I have seen the association develop its profile considerably. The value and service that we have provided can be measured by the number of self insured employers who maintain their membership. Throughout my time as Chairman I have enjoyed the support of an Executive team who have made the association what it is today. I have watched very good people come and go from the Executive; every one of them has added value to the Association. I have tried to generate an environment amongst the Executive that has encouraged open and hearty discussion; I hope that continues. I thank everyone who has served on the Executive for the support they have given.

The financial security of the association is strong; there is a very professional management team in place, so I leave with the greatest confidence that SISA is in a strong and sustainable position. I will watch the progress of the association with much interest".

The current Deputy Chair, Trish Bowe (PSWR) will be Acting Chair until the Executive Committee meets on 15 June to elect a new Chair.

Please join us in expressing our thanks to Steve for 11 years of dedication to the development of SISA and for his steady and wise leadership.
