WorkCover appoints Deputy CEO

WorkCoverSA has announced the appointment of Jeff Matthews to the position of Deputy Chief Executive, Partnership and Performance at WorkCoverSA.

Jeff has a career history which includes the management of significant outsourced contracts in the Healthcare sector, a period of time in the audit office in New Zealand and various roles at the Accident Compensation Commission (ACC) in New Zealand for six years.

While with the ACC, he has worked on the implementation of controversial legislative reform, has been involved in the implementation of a new $100m claims management technology system, designed performance management frameworks, led customer service initiatives and managed a group of 300 staff dealing with claims.

Jeff has a Bachelor of Business Studies and is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. He will be moving with his family to South Australia and starts at WorkCover on the 23 February 2009.

Coinciding with Jeff's arrival, WorkCover will move from its current structure of six business groups to a new structure of five business groups. The Workplace Injury and Scheme Regulation and Compliance groups will be integrated to form the new Partnerships and Performance Group, which will be headed up by Jeff.
